The JOJOLands Ch. 2

Here’s Jojolands chapter 2! I wrote a little intro to this part of Jojo and my current feelings on this project in the chapter 1 release post here. Unfortunately it seems like we’re dealing with snipers again, (groups competing to do the same series as soon as it comes out when we were doing it first for years) which we’re just going to ignore and hope they quit eventually as they usually do after a while. But like I said it’s really frustrating that we have to deal with this sort of thing still after working on a series for over a decade now. Most folks generally just read whatever comes out first, so when this happens it makes everything more stressful and more difficult when you need to compete like this and really with all the series that aren’t translated at all, it’s just a severe waste of time and resources (Like right now we’re doing Shima Kōsaku which is a classic series that’s been going since the 80’s that hasn’t been translated ever, and that’s not the only series like that). I’ve talked about this on the FAQ page because it’s happened multiple times now. Anyhow, please do us a favor and don’t support those groups. We’ll try to keep a positive attitude here.

Anyhow, enjoy! See you next month. The next chapter comes out on April 19th Japan time, so a bit later in the month than the first two but that’s when Ultra Jump USUALLY comes out, it’s been early these past two months. At the moment I’m working on Shima Kōsaku volume 16, but there’s still a lot to go with that.

Also, we have a new Discord! Come hang out and talk about manga. https://discord.gg/Nw45rfJYZF

Thanks for the hard work. I’ve been reading Jojo exclusively using your team’s scans for years. I have no interest in reading inferior quality Jojo. Your translations and typesetting and cleaning are part of Jojo for me and I am more than content to wait a little for superior quality. Thanks again 🙂

Thank you for the new chapter!
I know by first hand how stressful can be that kind of “translators”, hope they get tired soon.
I’ll be rooting for you as always. There are no better translations than this ones.

Dont stress to much about the other guys, for me as Im sure for a lot of people, you are synonim to new Jojo manga releases. In my mind there is no competition. Thank you for what you do!

Hate to hear that about the snipers. Personally I’m far more concerned with quality than speed, so there’s never any rush from me. Your group’s work is always worth the wait. 🙂

I also wanted to take a moment to thank you for translating series like Shima Kosaku. There are so many great untranslated series out there and it’s always appreciated when someone fixes that.

Hey there,

I’ve been a JoJo fan since the late 90’s and have Shonen Jumps dating back to 93 when I was following Dragon Ball first before discovering JoJo.
Just wanted to say that I’ve been following hiwamatanoboru’s scanlation work for years and will always wait for quality over speed.

If I didn’t date myself enough already, getting manga the same day as in Japan translated in English is still amazing when older fans had to wait weeks, months or even years to get anything in Japanese or English.

While I know why groups snipe and people want to be *first* to discuss the latest chapter. They’ll probably grow out of JoJo sooner or later. It isn’t really worth trying to fight (or win over) speed-running fans – it seems simply unsustainable and burn-out city.

Keep up the good work!

I’ve been following the HWMN translation since the beginning of JoJolion and I’ll be here for as long as it lasts. These parallel groups always start doing this sort of thing, but they never last long. Thank you for the good work!

Love your work and thank you for introducing me to a whole bunch of manga that I would have never thought to read. Looking forward to the Jojolands adventure with you 🙂
