Here we are, volume 8! Man, 8 volumes already. It feels like it’s flying by sometimes despite the fact that it’s a monthly manga so it comes out way slower than any of the weekly series we’ve worked on. As usual this is the final version of these, scanned from the tankoubons, and has more image on the tops and bottoms of the page and all of the bonus pages and all of Araki’s changes. He changes a bunch of screentones in this one compared to the original.

Ok so besides that, I’m working on finishing up translating the extras in the remaining Gintama volumes. There’s not too many left and then we’re just checking them over and trying to fix any mistakes I didn’t see when cleaning/redrawing them. And I’ve done a few chapters of Director Shima volume 7, I’m doing that a little at a time. Mainly I’m trying to finish this Gintama project. Besides that, the next The JOJOLands comes out May 19th and volume 9 comes out in the summer.

Hey everybody, here we are, chapter 35 of The JOJOLands. This is the third chapter of the ongoing saga of trying to find Usagi’s mom and the wacky antics involving death, self-loathing, and alligators.

So besides this, we’re working on our volume-scan version of Volume 8 of The JOJOJLands. That’s almost done. We finished cleaning and redrawing all the remaining Gintama volumes so now I just need to translate the extras and we need to check over them and we should be getting all of those out soon-ish (There’s 14 of them, volumes 46-59). Once that’s done I might try to do more of the chunk of Gintama from after the Viz versions ended, which is V24-32, seeing as the existing scanlations of that are all mostly pretty rough, but I’m not planning on making that a major focus of my time (I’m not really sure how much demand there is for that and the series is very wordy and we’d be doing EVERYTHING from scratch for those, including translating and typesetting). I’m working on Volume 7 of Shima, too. Also the next 3-Gatsu no Lion chapter was announced and that comes out on April 24th Japan time. So there’s plenty going on. Oh also Weebdex closed so we won’t/can’t upload there anymore. If anyone has any suggestions for another reader mirror, feel free to let me know. See ya’ll next month for the next JOJOLands!

Here’s the new The JOJOLands, everyone. This chapter, like a lot of chapters in this series, is full of unspeakable horrors both mental and physical so reader be advised. Also that rascal Kishibe Rohan is in it.

Besides this, I’ve got a couple of Shima chapters left to translate and volume 6 should be done. Sorry about the delay on that, I’ve been trying really hard to get all these Gintama volumes cleaned so that’s mainly what’s been finished lately. There’s 4 and a little more volumes left to go, and I’m doing the extras when I have time among all these other things. Once they’re all cleaned I’ll probably speedrun through translating the extras for all the volumes that are left. And then once that’s done I’ll probably focus on Shima for a while cause we haven’t released a lot of that lately. Oh also Volume 8 of The JOJOLands just came out so we’ll be doing that in the near future as well. I really have like way too much stuff to do at the moment lol. I’ll get through it all eventually.

Oh and the Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 7 – Steel Ball Run anime is starting finally! I translated the end of that manga. It’s pretty good I recommend it. Hopefully the adaptation is good.

Hey everybody he’s a new The JOJOLands chapter and it’s the first chapter of a new arc. A new “act” even. And man did this have a lot of text, I hope you appreciate all we do for you guys, we did all this in one day.

In the meantime, we have like a whole bunch of Gintama volumes cleaned but I still need to translate the extras for them. There’s 10 volumes left to clean and they’re all at least partially cleaned. I’m gonna try to get some of those finished soon and then also get back to finishing the next Shima volume. But mainly I’m trying to finish Gintama because spending hours and hours cleaning pages and fixing text is really boring and I just want it to be done so I don’t have to think about it anymore, tbh.

Edit 2: Also I went and replaced all the instances of when Howler’s first name was spelled “Acca” and changed it to “Hacca”. That was in chapters 17, 19, 21, and 23. The one bubble where he’s explaining how to pronounce it I just made that “Acca” in italics so you can tell the H is silent. All the links on the downloads page and all the readers are updated.

And here’s volume 7! So you know the deal at this point hopefully, this is the final archival version of these chapters with all the changes by the author and such. There’s not much different but it uses the scans of the Japanese volumes so this is the highest quality you can get. Man this series has been going for nearly 3 years now huh? It started back in February 2023. And now we’ve finished a whole 7 volumes of it. Ya know the earlier Jojo parts only ran for about 3 years but they were more volumes because it was weekly back in the 90’s. Part 1 was just 5 volumes and part 2 was 7 volumes so The JOJOLands is already longer than both of those also in terms of volumes. We’ve come pretty far huh?

Meanwhile I’m working on more Gintama and more Shima as usual. I’ve been trying to get a bunch of stuff in these Gintama volumes done quickly so this project doesn’t last forever but I think I need to cool it because it’s eating up all my time, there’s 4000 pages to go through and there’s just no way to do that all quickly, it’s a marathon.

Hey everyone, I’m very tired after working on this all day. I hope you enjoy! This one has more of that whole West Side Girl fight. Volume 7 of The JOJOLands just came out so we’ll be doing a volume version of that sometime soon (It needs to ship to me and I need to scan it and all that first). Note: The guy who was getting us the higher resolution Bilibili raws says the method he was using to get them at that resolution no longer works so we won’t be doing that anymore unless he finds some other way to get them. We’ll still release high res versions from the volume scans as usual when those come out.

Update 12/19/2026: Ok so this has been updated with a higher resolution version from Bilibili. But this is only a LITTLE better than the original Japanese one. Seemingly they shut off the thing that was allowing folks to get it at 2850px height pages and now it’s more like 1600. (Now I’m thinking maybe that was not supposed to go out and they only realized it like a year or two after the fact.) But it is noticeably better quality than the regular Shueisha raws, it’s those big ones but scaled down a little so it doesn’t have all the weird compression artifacts Shueisha had. I figure it’s still worth doing these since doing these versions only takes like an hour of work per chapter. Ultimately we’ll update them all with the volume raws once the physical volumes come out anyhow and those will continue to be the final versions.

Update 12/23/2025: OOokay so NOW we updated these to have the full-sized 2800-ish px in height versions. Apparently there was still a way to get them, but it was just more complicated? This is all for getting a reader to serve a high res version of something that we’ve already paid for and has been released normally, so I dunno why it was so complicated, but eventually we figured it out, the system just changed a bunch. Hopefully everything goes more smoothly next chapter. All the links are updated.

Hey everyone welcome back after that one break of one month last month. Here’s more Jojo’s Kooky Quest Part IX, Lands of Jooj. This chapter romanizes Howler’s first name as “Hacca” so we’re going to spell it like that now I guess (I suppose the H is silent). Also a bunch of other stuff happens with the various Stands and their respective users attacking each other.

Also I’m trying out using a new reader site MangaTaro and see how that goes. I’m trying to move our stuff over there too as another backup reader. But it takes a while cause we have to do every single chapter and there’s like 2000+ of those. I might do a little at a time or something. It took forever to get our whole library of manga onto Cubari and I’m not eager to spend hours and hours and hours doing it again on Bato.to or MangaTaro or anywhere else. But I think it’s a pretty good site so I’m trying to at least put the current ongoing stuff on there.

So, next issue of Ultra Jump (with Jojo) comes out December 18th Japan time. Volume 7 also comes out then. And for now I’m going back to working on Shima and Gintama. I’m gonna try to get a bunch more Shima done before the end of the year, I think. I’m enjoying this arc and translating through it. See you later!
