Hey, here’s Takeshi 22.
So I basically decided I’ll just keep doing this series as long as I feel like doing it and just try to do a chapter when I have time. There are SOME easier chapters but most of them are like this where it’s a lot of text on every page and tells a complete story over the course of 19 pages. But this one’s a good one! We’ve finally reached old dude Santa!
And starting next chapter we finally have made it to the Healthy/Herusii arc! I still don’t know which way I’m gonna romanize his name so look forward to that!

Ok, so, here we are. Takeshi 21. Sorry it took so long, everyone. I know it’s been like a year and some months since the last one. Basically I was overwhelmed with other stuff and I kinda had to put this on the backburner for a while.

Like I said I’m not planning on doing this WHOLE series but basically I’ll just try to do *some more* whenever I have time. Every chapter takes a good number of hours to translate and there’s 247 in total. Even with Joeabandonedmine doing all the cleaning and typesetting it’s still a lot, and the total number of hours it’d take to finish the rest is like, over 1000 hours of just translating.

ANYHOW we’ll see what happens. I don’t really have a plan with this series. See ya next time we do one. I’ll try to make it not TOO long from now.

Sorry these have been coming out so infrequently. I’ve had a bunch of real-life stuff to deal with the last 2 months on top of getting Innocent done and working on 81diver to push towards the end of that.

Here’s chapter 18 of Takeshi! Here’s the intro I wrote about the series if you haven’t seen it yet.

Oookay, with this we have now finished the first chapter of Wide-Ban 2! Some really good storylines and great characters get introduced in this wide-ban. Hopefully we’ll be able to get it out a bit faster than Wide-Ban 1 took.
Right now we’ve been working on Innocent, JoJolion, and 81diver. So this has been kinda slow. The next Innocent volume should be done fairly soon. It’s all translated and it’s in the process of being cleaned/redrawn now.

Also Batoto is shutting down so we’ll have to use a different site as our primary reader. We’ll see what the rest of the community ends up doing before we decide on anything. We’ll continue uploading downloadable versions of everything as normal.

Ok, with this we have finally finished Wide-Ban 1!
For those that don’t know, a Wide-Ban is a kinda deluxe, repackaged edition that came out later after the series had ended. That’s why it’s nearly 400 pages long. There are 13 in total, so we’re 1/13th of the way through the series now! Well, that took a while, over a year now, but I’m really glad this project is moving. I’ve been really excited about doing this project for a while and it’s been hard to find time on it, so I’m really glad we finally made it to this milestone. Should be starting on Wide-Ban 2 pretty soon, so look out for that!
Included in this is the extra pages from the original volumes 1 and 2 which make up Wide-Ban 1. That includes the between-chapter little essays Shimabukuro wrote back when he was first starting out.
We’re also releasing the whole Wide-Ban as one file here, since it’s all done. It includes all the chapters, also we added the color pages to chapter 1 we got after we scanlated it.

Hope you enjoy everyone! I can’t wait till we get to some of the stuff coming up in this series, it’s got tons of heart and great comedy.

Here’s chapter 16 of Takeshi! Here’s the intro I wrote about the series if you haven’t seen it yet.

Recently we released a bunch of one-shots by Shimabukuro-sensei. They’re right here if you wanna check them out.

This is another pretty fun one-off chapter. And with that we’ve just got one chapter left until we’re finally done with Wide-Ban 1! Which has taken over a year now I think.

This chapter had color pages in the original Jump magazine but we haven’t been able to find any version of them, so this release just has the black-and-white versions. There’ve been a few pages like that so far where we haven’t been able to get the color pages. They were never reproduced in any kind of permanent archive, so to get them we’d need someone to scan the original Shounen Jump magazines from 1997-2002.

If anyone has one of the old issues of Jump and wants to help us out by scanning the color pages, let me know at kewl0210@gmail.com. We have almost all the covers, because there are archives of those around. And we have a FEW color pages just from them being posted someone online (Usually the auction site Mandarake), but there’s no big public archive of them, and they’re not printed anymore. So if I wanted to buy them from one of those Japanese auction sites it would cost a lot just to buy one to get it imported to the US, and it’s not really worth it for just a couple of color pages. But if someone has access to old Jump magazines form that era and wants to help out, we’d really appreciate it. We’re trying to get as many as we can.
