And here we are, the next old volume, volume 8.

This one is the one where Joubin is introduced! Sure is interesting looking back on those given recent events in the story…
For those unaware, we’ve been slowly redoing the old volumes working backwards, replacing the old lower-quality magazine versions. But at the same time also doing the new volumes as they come out. These old ones are basically the same as the original versions but the image quality is better (They’re scanned from the physical printed versions), we’re trying to get the best versions of any color pages we can if they’re out, and the typesetting is improved to match our current style and have all the sound effects typeset (Which we skipped the first time around due to time constraints). I’m also trying to find any mistakes I made and improve the prose in my translation a bit if I can.

I mentioned this in the last couple posts, but we’ve got volumes 3-7 all scanned, cropped, cleaned and redrawn. So we just have the process of updating the lettering styles and checking through the translations to improve them left (These are edited versions of the typesetting the JoJo’s Colored Adventure Team used, which are based on our magazine versions). I’m hoping we’re able to get through them pretty soon and have the whole series done in high-quality volumes finally after all these years, but it’ll depend on when folks have time between their other projects and all that. (Also we may update volumes 1-2 after that to use more up to date lettering, too. Just updating the old volume releases.)

Ok, and here’s this. Volume 22.
We are now caught up with new volumes again! And will be for like 3 weeks.
I mentioned this in the last post, but v3-8 are all cleaned and redrawn. It’s just the process of editing and transferring the text for those 6 volumes. I finished cleaning and redrawing v8 so everything is at that text-transfer step now. That part requires multiple people checking in addition to transferring the text over so it’ll still be some time. We’re gonna try to get them out fairly frequently if we can, cause really I just want this backlog out of the way (That’s why I spent the last like 2 months scanning/cropping/aligning/redrawing them). And I’m still doing all that other stuff.

There’s a calamity and it’s not ending any time soon.

Uh, sorry a lot is taking a while. A lot’s going on.
Right now I’ve been focusing on getting the old Jojolion volumes done and getting the new Innocent volume translated. Jojolion v3-8 and 22 are all cleaned and redrawn (except one that’s almost done) and we just need to update the typesetting styles and update the translations to be a bit better, which shouldn’t be TOO long a task per volume.
And Innocent I only have like 1 and a half chapters left to translate. Though it’s still gotta be cleaned and redrawn and typeset. I’m about done with my tasks on those for a bit so I’m going to try to get more Takeshi and Ikoku Nikki chapters translated soon. Once those partially-done things are done, my next focus is to get the remaining 12-ish Ikoku Nikki chapters and get caught up. And then at some point we’re gonna do Neko ga Nishi Mukya v2. Also we’re working on the next 3-Gatsu no Lion chapter and Dascalon is almost done with the v15 scanlation using the high quality volume raws. So yeah there’s a lot going on, and I’m just trying to get something done every day.
