Whew! Ok, here’s a bunch of chapters. Thanks to Pronouncedsmith for joining up and doing a lot of hard work this week to get all these typeset and some cleaned. Hopefully we can keep up this sorta thing and get more chapters released a bit faster, since I won’t be overloading myself doing literally every job now.

Uhh, in terms of translations I just finished 162, so we got 85 chapters left to translate. Gettin’ there! Slowly but surely.

Also now we’re into the next major arc after the Mummy arc, which is the Moby arc! This one’s really great and it’s one of my favorites. I hope ya’ll like it. It goes from chapter 96 to 108, and it’s a big fun adventure with a lot of heart and a lot of gags that kinda feels like a precursor to some of the arcs in Toriko in a lot of ways.

Here’s chapter 183! This one’s from Nikaidou’s perspective! Fun!

There’s no chapter next issue. It seems like we’re getting these coming out once a month fairly consistently, so the next one is probably gonna be the 4th Friday of July. Though volume 16 is coming out September 29th. So once that’s out we’ll be working on a volume-version of volume 16.

Ok, let’s head right along into Wide-Ban 6! Here is chapter 94. The last translation I finished was 156 so I’ve got 91 more to go. This one’s a fun heartwarming chapter about Gon and his mom. Right in time for uh… Father’s day. Anyhow, I’m exhausted from doing things! We’re almost at the Moby Arc now, which’ll be fun.

Bwwuuuh we made it to the end of Wide-Ban 5! Yeah! Last chapter I translated was 151, so there’s 96 left to translate. I’m translating Wide-Ban 9 now. I figured I would take some extra time cleaning/typesetting this week to get Wide-ban 5 done.

But generally speaking I don’t have time to both translate and also clean and letter/typeset, and if we had more help with that, these would get done way faster. Right now I’m doing all the jobs myself which, I’d really rather not have to spend that much time on a weekly basis on this one project. As of now I’m basically gonna focus on translating in hopes I can get to the end of the series by the end of the year. Here’s this! More goodness! This chapter was less of a headache to translate but this series is still quite hard despite not having tons of words.

This chapter is about feeling like a “supporting player” in life and the causes and implications of that! So that’s a thing! Check it out!

Uh, it looks like there’s no chapter next month as it’s not in the preview of next chapter page. Unless that’s a mistake. So probably the next chapter is in August.

Also Mangadex is back up but currently (now both a front end and back end) they haven’t enabled uploading, using the API or otherwise, so I still can’t upload there. But whenever they DO enable that I’ve got like 40-something chapters we’ve done or edits we’ve made I need to put on there.

Here’s 90! The last translation I finished was for chapter 147 so the amount left to translate is… 100. JoJolion Volume 26

Here it is! 26. This volume came out not too long ago so I’m glad we were able to get it done pretty quick this time. We’re working on the handful of old volumes still, and hopefully we get the next one out in not too long. Again, they need to be completely re-lettered which our letterers can only do in their free time.

I feel like I should mention here that I updated a few lines regarding the “invisible spin bubbles” from these chapters because now we know what they actually are (I updated them a bit ago and reuploaded the magazine versions but these have those changes, too). The issue was when they were first introduced we didn’t have any context, so it wasn’t clear if “その中に” meant “inside” or “among”, a lot of lines were said in a way where it was hard to tell if they were clarifying something or introducing a new idea… it’s all kind of hard to explain if you don’t know Japanese. It wasn’t fully clear until like chapter 105 when we got the full explanation.

But basically the end result is there’s just two “types” of bubbles. There’s the original ones at Jousuke’s fingertips which he can fire and the invisible ones that defy logic, are “just spin”, and appear from the mark on his shoulder that he can’t control. There’s nothing inside them, Mamezuku Rai was saying that the special invisible bubbles are “among” the other bubbles. They’re both made of spinning lines, but for the second type of bubbles they are “just spin” and have no physical “cords” that are spinning (Which the originals have). Anyhow those bubbles gave me a real headache and sorry about the confusion.
