Moving right along, here’s volume 2! Believe it or not we are already one third of the way through the Executive Managing Director arc. I translated most of this while V1 was being cleaned/checked so this one didn’t take very long to finish. I started a bit on V3 but mainly I’m trying to finish the rest of the Gintama volumes because I’ve been working on that for like a year. Anyhow, this volume is the first appearance of Xie Mengyuan! One of the last major recurring characters to be introduced. Or the last one, I guess it depends on your perspective of who’s a major recurring character.

Anyhow, we’ve released something every couple of days for the last few weeks and I’m not done but I’m exhausted. Basically my plan for the next while is trying to check through the remaining Gintama volumes which is very grueling boring work and translating more Shima. We’re like around half way through translating Shima V3 now and Gintama V52 is almost done.

We have made it to part 4 folks! We are here at Executive Managing Director Shima Kōsaku. A manga with a very long English title. I put the progress chart and recapped where we are in the overall series in the last post so I’ll skip that this time. But to add one thing I said in that post, Executive Managing Director has just 66 chapters, so it’s not too long and I don’t expect it to take too long. It sorta depends on how much free time I have to work on this among everything else and how long it takes folks to clean. One thing I realized when working on Gintama so much recently is that this series tends to be very matter-of-fact and easy to understand despite talking about business logistics and economics and politics. It’s much harder to do jokes, complicated emotions, describing abstract things, things were information is implied or alluded to or danced around and not stated directly, stuff like that. I think maybe once we finish redoing this Gintama stuff and I have time to do a new series I may try to do more of that type of series next.

Anyhow, there’s a new 3-Gatsu no Lion and The JOJOLands chapter coming out soon. So look forward to that. I hope you all let people know how good this series is and maybe more folks will read it. I’m gonna keep up with it as long as I can or when I catch up, one of those two.
