Hey so this is the 2nd of the 3-Gatsu no Lion fanbooks. If you’re interested in what we’re doing here, see the post I made on the first one.
As before, we’re only including manga by Umino Chika in this. We also included a couple bonus single-page drawings other artists in Young Animal did that were included in the book. Most of the other contents we didn’t do are recaps, cooking recipes, and some interviews.

So this is the last of the fanbooks that’ve been published thus far. This covers up to volume 11. So most likely at some point in the future there will be an “advanced” guidebook. But thus far none has been announced.
As for the next volume of 3-Gatsu no Lion, volume 14, that still doesn’t have a release date. However the official Twitter has said that the chapter that appeared in Young Animal last week should be the last chapter appearing in volume 14 (That should be chapter 153). So it should get a release date soon. Probably the end of October. I’m probably going to start translating those chapters soon using the digital raws from the mangazine to get a jump on it once the actual volume comes out. So look forward to that.

Gintama 698

Edit: So, now that this is out and there’s been some time for everyone to read it, turns out this is NOT the last chapter. And the series is going to finish off in Giga Jump. So we’ll be scanlating those, too, of course, whenever they come out.
Jump Giga has a very weird serialization. It’s the same magazine as Jump Next, Akamaru Jump, Jump Special. They rebrand it every once in a while. It’s mostly made up of one-shots or short series by newcomers as a way to test the waters and gauge what authors get new series. As of now it seems its schedule is they have 3 volumes in summer and 3 volumes in winter. It used to be once every 2 months, but now it shifted to one a month for 3 months, then 3 months off. I dunno how long the chapters are gonna be, but seemingly the first Gintama chapter will be in the one going on sale in December. They usually go on sale around the end of the month, like the 25th-29th. I’m sure they’ll advertise it a bit beforehand. And like before, we’ll keep doing volume versions as new one come out.

Gintama Volume 74

Okay, here’s volume 74! We’re now all caught up to the newest volume.
Ya’ll can go enjoy this while we finish up Gintama 698 which should be done pretty soon.
I’m thinking of maybe doing V33 next, because we did translate all the chapters in it back then when those chapters were new. It would also be nice to have all of the volume done rather than just one chapter. A bunch of the corrected versions never got scanlated, too. I’d have to go through all the translations to fix them up a bit, since it’s been like 7 years since then. If it doesn’t become too much of a huge frustrating chore, we might do more.

Hey so this is not the WHOLE guidebook just the manga in it drawn by Umino Chika.
For those that don’t know, there are two fan books titled “3-Gatsu no Lion Review Guidebook – Beginner” and “3-Gatsu no Lion Review Guidebook – Intermediate” that came out in the last couple years (This one came out in September of 2014, the 2nd one came out in July of 2016). For the most part, like most fanbooks, they’re just big recaps of the story, profiles of characters, interviews with people on tangential subjects, etc. All of which isn’t really relevant to the manga and would be very painstaking to translate and typeset. But these DO include a few pages of newly-drawn manga by Umino Chika as well as some promotional materials that she drew for the volumes when they came out. That’s all this release contains, and we won’t be working on the rest. This book is recapping volumes 1-5, and so all the things included in this release are relevant to those volumes. Now that we finished all those other projects I finally had time to work on these. This is the first of two, so I’ll try to get the second one done in the near future. And if she ever releases a third one, I’ll try to do that one too.

And if you’re wondering about 3-Gatsu no Lion Volume 14, it doesn’t have a release date yet, but it’ll probably be released in October or possibly late September.
